日を受けて穏やかに映える博多湾のさざ波をイメージして設計されました。その光の優しい戯れは、ちょうど歌川広重の「筑前筥崎海中の道」（「六十余州名所図会」より）に描かれた景色のようです。このデザインは、人為的な街に、時間とともに変化する自然を導きます。ファサードの、たゆたう光のさざ波を凝視すれば、そこに蜃気楼のように、＜ダミエ・パターン＞が浮かびあがります。日本の、もっとも大陸に近い都市にあって、その風土の光を持ちながら、遠くルイ・ヴィトンの生まれた土地を夢見るかのようです。

The facade of Louis Vuitton Fukuoka Store is inspired by the calm and shining ripples of the Hakata bay. Gentle, shimmering lights resemble the scene drawn by Hiroshige Utagawa in his Japanese woodblock print named "Chikuzen Hakozaki kaichu no michi". This facade design brings the nature which changes over time into the artificial landscape. When you gaze at the supple, wavering lights on the facade, a mirage of "damier pattern" will appear. Fukuoka Tenjin Store, situated in a city closest to the asian/european continent, possesses the local ray of light while seeming to dream of the far away birthplace of Louis Vuitton.
